Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Beaded Collar?
All Dogs In The Wild, Co. beads are fed through a high-grade steel wire and securely crimped on each end. Each design is made from a collection of quality beads including resin, acrylic, ceramic and more!
Are these handmade?
Yes! We are a brand new, husband-wife small business who handmake every single order. Ensuring we are creating the perfect collar for your pet by curating to the custom bead style, collar style, and sizing of your choosing. We work directly out of our small little home in Northern Florida with our 3 dogs!
Do you make collars for small dogs and cats?
Yes! We have a selection of beaded collars that are made with smaller bead options, recommended for pets with 14.5" or smaller. Please read item descriptions for more details on which bead size is used for that particular design or filter products by bead size (By The Bead). If you do not see your pets size listed when ordering, please reach out to us so we can accommodate to your pets needs. We will only charge "ceiling" and "floor" prices for any sizes that are smaller or larger than the options listed (upgrade charges still apply)
Do you ship Internationally?
Unfortunately, we are not shipping internationally during this time! We will announce any changes to our shipping files once we are able to ship internationally. We are only shipping in the U.S. at the moment.
How do I measure my pet?
Please review our Size Guide for more information. Soft & flexible measuring tapes are available at any craft store or big-box store (printable options are available online, as well). It is not recommended using a hard measuring tape, or guess your pets head/neck measurements. For their safety and comfortability, please triple check your measurements before ordering! If you are still having trouble, please reach out to us via email, and we will be more than happy to assist you!
When will my order ship?
Production time is usually between 2-3.5 weeks, and may be extended during collection releases/sales etc. You will receive a shipping confirmation email, with a tracking number included, once it has been shipped. Please keep in mind we are a small, wife-husband duo, handmaking and shipping all orders. Our collars are handcrafted and made-to-order specific to your pet's measurements. Although, turn around times may be shorter/longer than expected, we work hard to make sure we are providing efficiency and high quality products to all of our customers. Announcements and updates regarding processing/shipping times will also be updated on our site during holidays/seasonal events. Be sure to keep an eye out for any news at the top of our Home Page. Order confirmation emails will also have the accurate production time listed. Have any questions? Send us an email or message us on our social media platforms.
Are these collars comfortable / good for pets wth allergies?
All of our collars use high quality beads that do not exert any loose materials (flaking, dust etc.) These beads, when strung together, create a line of smooth surfaces. The beads will also rotate around from the wire, thus creating a massaging effect, as well. They will not cause friction on your pets head/neck, however, please note, some designs are made with rhinestone beads and other obscurely shaped beads. It is recommended to remove any collar(s) when leaving your pet unattended or crated, as to ensure their safety from possible choking or catching on other items. All of our collars can be used as decorative wear and/or function for walking and everyday use. (Please watch our Style Option Overview Video, on our Product Info Page, for more!)
What style should I get?
Any of our designs pair beautifully to all pets no matter their size or shape! This will mainly depend on you and your pets personal aesthetic preference and lifestyle!
Important things to consider:
- Flea & Tick Medication(s): Topical flea and tick meds interact with acrylic bead coatings - we do not recommend acrylic bead styles for those who use topical flea/tick meds. We have not had any reported issues with topical flea/tick medication, however, please make sure to always supervise your pet.
- Martingale Chains: These are our favorite style options for walking our pups! If you want to learn more about what martingale chains are and how they function - check out our Style Option Overview video on our Product Info page, here! Please note: martingale chain styles may show discoloration on light-colored fur with daily use. While our martingale chains are water-resistant, we do not recommend for use in daily water activities/wear.
- Beads: Our Ceramic, Resin and semi-precious bead collections are our most durable, high-quality and strong. We highly recommend you read all product descriptions to ensure you are selecting the correct product size, style and quantity of your choosing. As a new shop, we do our best to update product descriptions with accurate descriptions and cautions for consideration. Colored ‘pearl’ collars may have dye transference for white pups and/or experience discoloration with constant exposure to the sun. Many of our collars are made of mix materials and bead types. If you have any questions on specific collars and need a second opinion as to what style and design you should choose for your pet, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! *Collars should always be worn under supervision, just as with any style of pet collar, accessory etc. and removed when they are sleeping. Although most of our collars are water-resistant, it is recommended to remove all collars when bathing. Please supervise your pet if you know they are prone to chewing. DO NOT LET YOUR PET/CHILDREN INGEST!
Can my pet wear it all day?
This will depend on you and your pets lifestyle. We recommend to always take off their collars during play-time, when crated, and whenever your pet may be unsupervised (including sleeping). Please also ensure you have measured your pet, as shown in the size guide, and do not "guestimate" their size as to ensure a proper and safe fit. All collars are handmade and made-to-order, therefore, All sales are final!
How do I clean these collars?
We recommend using gentle hand soap and cold water with a soft microfiber towel. Do not leave these collars to sit and soak in any damp/wet area. All hardware and materials are virtually water-resistant! Hand-wash Only!
Can my long-haired dog wear these?
Many owners opt for a looser fitting collar to account for any tightness or pulling from the collection of beads. All of our collars are tightly strung together with high-grade materials, however, these collars are best suited for short-haired pet breeds. All beads are still free to rotate on the wire line and therefore can spin or snag on long hair. We will post updates and reviews of any orders from owners of long-haired pets. As a small shop, we are doing our best to provide the best experience for all of our customers. New style options are being considered in hopes to give all shoppers options that best suit their pet and lifestyle.
Can I purchase this for my puppy?
Our collars are not adjustable! Therefore, we do not recommend buying one of these collars until your pet is close to full grown. Pet's grow very fast and its important to keep that mind when purchasing any kind of collar, as to avoid tightness or choking. Plus, we'd love for you to own these collars for a long time! (My Great Dane grew like bamboo and we went through several harnesses/collars!)
Can I walk my dogs in these?
Absolutely! We highly recommend our martingale chain style collars for walking your dog. Our slip-on O-Ring/Heart-Shaped collars are just as durable and great for "loose-leash" walking, however, because of the "slip-on" nature, we do not recommend this style option for pet's who are prone to slipping out or escaping during walks. The choice just depends on you and your pet. If your pet is prone to "leash-pulling", please consider the proper training and handling methods with a professional before purchasing our martingale chain collars. If you are concerned about significant pulling strength from dogs over 100 lbs, double and triple strands are suggested. We handmake our collars using vinyl-coated wire with a breakstrength of 480 lbs! We made a video showcasing each style option and their functionalities on our Product page! If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us! We're always happy to help!
